Monday Morning Mary: Forgiveness

Magnoia - 3

Forgiveness

I’m going to sit
under this tree
and say I love me
a thousand times

Under this tree of a thousand
white blossoms
I say to myself
I love me

I love me
I love me
flowering above me
a crown of white blossoms
to heal me—I love me
and light up—I love me
the night sky—I love me
that joins us together—I love me
I love me
a thousand times
I love me

Contentment

Today’s NaPoWriMo poem was inspired by today’s Zen Habits post on finding Contentment. This poem, comprised of two haiku, was written in situ. Enjoy.

Contentment

What more could I want?
The sun shines through a pink tree.
A cardinal sings.

The sky breathes on me.
A petal lands on my arm.
I do not move it.

A poem a day for April

magnetic

OK, I’m in love with the magnolia tree by my house. Today’s poem, written expressly for NaPoWriMo.

magnetic

if only the magnolia blossoms
would cling to me
like magnets

i would be clothed in white garlands
trailing warm ribbons of perfume
wherever i walk
interrupting every distraction
evoking, especially from myself,
a smile
